The name's Vitani, I'm a sophomore at Walt Academy. You can find me in dorm 609C with my roommate Audrey and my two dogs, Paco and Maddie, or in the sophomore common room on the C floor. If we happen to have classes together you'll notice my seat is always empty. I think school is just a waste of time to be honest. And yes I know I was sent here for the "best education possible" but I need to learn things that I'll actually need to know outside of school.
"You were born an original. Don't die a copy." ~ John Mason
Vitani ran her hands through her hair and looked down at the open geometry text book sitting on her floor. The sight of it made her want to scream. The past week and a half was Hell for Vitani, she felt like she had no one. Her teachers kept giving her more and more school work and on top of that her friends had been disappearing one-by-one. The stress was becoming unbearable. It was the end of the year and all Vitani wanted to do was slack off and party but that wasn’t about to happen any time soon. Summer was so close but it felt years away. She looked up at the clock that now read 10:30, her homework was going nowhere. Returning her attention back to her geometry book Vitani let out a groan, she had spend the past three hours on her homework and she was only on question 5 of 26.
Getting up Vitani shut the book. She needed something to do, something to distract her, and something to eat. Even though it was late the cafeteria was normally open and even if it wasn’t Vitani was so hungry that she would even go into town to find something to eat. Bending down Vitani picked up the book to place it in the pile with the rest of her books before grabbing her black hoodie and leaving her dorm.
The girl moved swiftly down the stairs to the Freshmen common room and out the doors of the Roy Dormitory building. After taking a few steps into the chilly atmosphere of the beautiful spring night she put on her hoodie. Vitani made her way down the path headed toward the cafeteria building looking up at the sky. It was beautiful and for some reason it distracted her from all her worries and from where she was going. She came back to reality after bumping into someone. “Excuse you,” she blurted out as she looked up to see who the mysterious person was.
“Well aren’t you feisty, I guess it’s a good thing that I brought back up,” the strange man’s words confused Vitani. Back up? Why would he need back up? Suddenly Vitani new what the man meant when she felt someone grab her from behind and another man tying her hands together. She tried to scream but it was no use because as soon as a sound left her mouth the first guy put hand over her mouth. Wanting to fight back Vitani bit his hand.
“You little bitch!” the man screamed as he shook his hand to stop the pain. “Boys get her to the car before she draws attention to herself.” Suddenly Vitani was off the ground, the man that grabbed her now had her over his shoulder and began to walk. In the distance Vitani could see a figure, she recognized the figure but she couldn’t see the face. She let out another scream but it was too late, she was already too far away.
